eDNA Mainstream is delighted to announce a collaboration with Fish Treatment Ltd which is utilising an exciting new development in the detection of environmental DNA to look for the presence of specific organisms in a water body. It works by taking water samples from the site (which includes filtering them as part of the sampling kit we supply) and sending the filter to a specialised laboratory which extracts and amplifies the DNA of the target species. It is a very specialised analysis which can potentially have a wide range of applications.
What it can do is indicate minute traces of the target organisms with a high degree of accuracy.
